Does not rust
More flexible
Lighter than steel reinforced trims
Non conductive
Easier to cut and reduced risk of cutting yourself as no protruding metal
Does not deform in the same manner as steel reinforced trims when bending and cutting
Does not need to be replaced due to degradation, cutting the cost of replacing the trim and labour involved
